We have numerous events throughout the year, designed to engage the collective Open School family and also raise money at the same time. Friends of the Open School is responsible for organizing the fundraising efforts at the Open School. 

We hope you will participate in all of our events as a volunteer, organizer or attendee and we look forward to your support and enthusiasm.

Read-a-thon Reminder: Turn in Logs Tomorrow (Article)

Please remind your children to bring their Read-A-Thon logs into school the morning of Wednesday, February 26th. This is the last week of Read-A-Thon and we would love to get 100% participation!

Also, please make sure to initial your children's logs. This will help ensure that everyone is participating and that they're writing down the correct number of minutes.

READ-A-THON 2020 (Article)

On Thursday, February 6, Open Magnet Charter transformed into Open’s Chocolate Factory, kicking off our 2020 Read-A-Thon! Over the next three weeks, students and staff will participate in this worthwhile literacy program that highlights the joy and wonder of reading.

Your child will bring home a reading log in a brown envelope. Please familiarize yourself with these materials in order to encourage their participation.

Reminder:  Please check with your company to see if they match charitable contributions, either in part or in full. This is effectively free money for our school, and often just requires a small amount of paperwork, which is often completed by the Annual Giving team rather than you.

This past weekend’s Campout was a true success with over 600 members of our Open family, lots of food, a ton of laughs, flashing lights everywhere and just an overall good time.
