We have numerous events throughout the year, designed to engage the collective Open School family and also raise money at the same time. Friends of the Open School is responsible for organizing the fundraising efforts at the Open School. 

We hope you will participate in all of our events as a volunteer, organizer or attendee and we look forward to your support and enthusiasm.

Last Call for the Book Fair! (Article)

The Fall Book Fair's last day is Friday, November 22nd from 7:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. 

Stop by the Open School Library to pick up books for your family, friends, your child’s cluster, or the Open Library collection. Thank you to all the families who supported the Fair and our student's passion for reading. 

Winter Concert (Article)

Open School's spectacular Winter Concert will be on Wednesday, December 18th in the auditorium.  Seating is limited: we kindly ask those who do not have their child in the Orchestra, Band, or Choir to attend the last performance at 1:10 pm.

Fifteenth Open School Institute: Constructivism in Action- Thursday, January 30, 2020 (Article)

In an effort to make a more meaningful contribution to professional communities of educators and to extend our leadership, approximately 20 years ago we created the Open Magnet Charter School Institute: Constructivism in Action.

Open School's Institute will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The Fall Book Fair kicks off on Friday, November 15th at 2:30 p.m. with special late hours for Movie Night and will run through conference week to Friday, November 22nd.

Reminder:  Please check with your company to see if they match charitable contributions, either in part or in full. This is effectively free money for our school, and often just requires a small amount of paperwork, which is often completed by the Annual Giving team rather than you. 

Countdown to Open's Fall Book Fair! (Article)

Mrs. Nelson's Book Fair will kick off with special late hours during Movie Night on Friday, November 15th and run throughout Conference Week to November 22nd. This community event sparks students' interest in books, fuels their love of reading, and serves as a fundraiser for our school. We have books for all reading levels and offerings for parents, too.
