Highlights from Monday's School Assembly

As you know, our students are learning about our next Roots of Respect word: Gratitude.  This week, at assembly, we shared how we need to take the time to be grateful for ourselves. Especially when we are not as connected to others, we need to check in on ourselves and say, "It's great to be me!"

We watched a short video called The Reflection in Me, a heartwarming family film around the themes of love, acceptance, and having a positive self-image. Students also shared examples of how they appreciate being themselves.

Last week, we invited student speakers to tell us about Hispanic Heritage Month and enjoyed watching Natalia in Indigo show us her Folklorico dancing. Continuing with our Hispanic Heritage Month themes, this week our very own Ms. Isis from Yellow Cluster revealed her family's entrepreneurial skills with a video showing us their amazing tortilla factory in Hawaii.
