We have numerous events throughout the year, designed to engage the collective Open School family and also raise money at the same time. Friends of the Open School is responsible for organizing the fundraising efforts at the Open School. 

We hope you will participate in all of our events as a volunteer, organizer or attendee and we look forward to your support and enthusiasm.

Invite Your Friends and Family to the Season of Giving (Article)

During this Season of Giving, donations from extended family are a great way to support our school. Grandparents, aunts, and uncles are looking for meaningful ways to give to your child. Their gift to Open will directly provide enriching experiences for your child at our school.  

Fifteenth Open School Institute: Constructivism in Action- January 31, 2019 (Article)

In an effort to make a more meaningful contribution to the educational professional community at large and to extend our leadership, we created the Open Magnet Charter School Institute: Constructivism in Action.

Open School's Institute will take place on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 7:30 am-3:30 pm.

Parent-Teacher Conference Week is an amazing reminder of how much there is to be thankful for at Open. Many of those things - art, music, garden, PE and even some technology and teacher aides - exist at the level they do only because of the generosity of families like yours.

As we all head into the holidays, we ask you to join us in remembering and supporting Open's many treasured programs and resources that rely on your generosity


For 2018, we're aiming for $18,000 between #GivingTuesday (November 29) and the end of year.

This includes a mini-goal of $8,000 on one big day - #GivingTuesday. We'll be doing our part by giving YOU some attractive incentives to help us start the campaign off right.

The Fall Book Fair kicked off in the Library after school today and will run throughout Conference Week until Friday, November 16th.  Stop by the Open School Library to pick up books for your family, friends, your child’s cluster, or the Open Library collection.

Thank you to everyone for another successful Campout. 

Special thanks to Scott Henry, Tami Hachiya and Joanna Bressel-Wilder for keeping everyone full and hydrated; Eric Weingrad and Jeanine Wright for lighting up the night with evening activities; Allison Vazarlly and Susan Lillestol for keeping our kids busy with arts & crafts and the many volunteers who jumped in and helped wherever needed.
