Step It Up!

In partnership with the school fundraiser organization, Step It Up, we are excited to announce a brand new fundraiser here at Open School: The Open School Ninja Warrior Challenge!  

Like Jog-A-Thon, students will collect donations to help our school earn money.  But instead of running laps, our kids will challenge themselves on an interactive obstacle course based on the TV shows Wipeout and American Ninja Warrior. The fundraiser kicks off with a school assembly, followed by a two week high-energy fundraising campaign where the kids can earn AWESOME rewards, and concludes with a gigantic inflatable obstacle course fitness challenge and an AWESOME DJ dance party celebration.

Participation Rewards

This is a great exercise-oriented event that involves students, parents, teachers and friends and helps raise money for the important Open School programs like music, art, garden, physical education, teacher’s aides and more. All students are encouraged to get sponsors for this event, and they will have opportunities to earn AWESOME rewards just for participating!

Art & Essay Contest

Student will also have the opportunity to participate in the art and essay contest based on the theme:

How do you use your awesomeness to help yourself, help others or help the environment? 

The essay and art contest is a way for the students to express what the theme of this event means to them personally. The artwork they create, and/or essay they write should be an example of this. Essays and artwork will be judged by the Step It Up staff. There will be one artwork and essay winner from grades K-2 and one artwork and essay winner from grades 3-5. Winners will receive awesome prizes.
