Classroom News

Keep sending those boxes in!  We need small and medium size boxes for sure.

Next week, the third graders will be testing on Tuesday and the fourth graders will be testing on Thursday and Friday (barring anyone needing a make up test or more time to finish).  Everyone will be doing math tests.  Please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and encourage him/her to read all directions carefully and to carefully go over and check his/her work.  We will all be happy when testing is over!

We will be building every day next week except for Wednesday and would love extra hands.  The more adults, the more gets done, and we’re running out of time quickly.  Here are the times:

Monday: all day

Tuesday: 9:00-10:30

Thursday: 9:00-10:30

Friday: 9:00-10:30

New Yellow Cluster t-shirts:  Hopefully you all received the email earlier today about ordering our special 2017-18 Yellow Cluster shirts and sweatshirts.  All ordering is being done online and orders must be placed by May 17th, when the online store closes so that they can get our shirts made and to us by May 31st so that the students who want to can wear them at our city presentation on June 1st.  Due to this, late orders cannot be accepted.  The design is a city skyline with the students’ names written in their own writing inside the buildings.  It is available on a yellow or gray shirt or a pullover hoodie sweatshirt (in child and adult sizes), as well as in an adult women’s v-neck style.  Here is the link to the online store.  https://omcsyc.itemorder.com/sale

Homework

Scholastic News: This week we are just doing the Scholastic News magazine - no map.  The magazine is due on Thursday, 5/17.

Area and Perimeter:  In lieu of a weekly problem, we have asked the students to finish up whatever area and perimeter work they have to complete.  For some, it’s just a little bit, for others, there is quite a lot to be done.  In an attempt to increase responsibility and independence, we have required the students to be responsible for getting what they need from Ms. Denise themselves.  Please check with your child about what he/she might need to get done.  We would like it to be turned in by Thursday, 5/17.

Building:  Many students have chosen to take buildings home this weekend to work on.  We also have a few students who still need to complete some building permits.

Expiration Date:
Jul 31
