Weekly Newsletter - November 5, 2018

Our Halloween/ October-November birthday party was a success! Thank you to all of the wonderful families for sending in so many goodies, and for coming to help us with the trick or treat stations on the Green Yard. We couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you to the birthday moms for bringing popsicles and freeze dancing to the party. It was a Monster Mashing good time.
Last week, we learned about empathy. Using “Leonardo the Terrible Monster,” by Mo Willems, as a mentor text, we talked and shared about our own experiences around empathy. The children explored the idea of feeling what the other person is feeling in their own hearts. This week we will continue our work around empathy with some role play.
We also introduced to the children what Election Day is. The children have already started coming up with rules, or propositions, for Green Cluster, and this week, we will be voting for what we believe is, or are, the most important.
This will be our last newsletter until after Thanksgiving. This week we will be busy completing activities for Parent Conferences (November 14th - 16th). Please be sure to sign up on the Sign up Genius for your slot if you haven’t done so already. We are looking forward to seeing you at our first parent-teacher-child conference. Please make every effort to be there on time. We are celebrating your child’s success, so be sure to bring the star of the show to the conference.

Reminders:
