Wonder and Exploration

August 2019

Indigo Welcome

Welcome to Indigo Cluster!!!!!!!  We are so excited about all the fun we have planned for the year and have enjoyed this past week getting to know our new Indigo students and catching up with our returning students as well.  Our theme in Indigo Cluster is Wonder and Exploration.  This year we will be Wondering and Exploring to Infinity and Beyond.  As we are exploring Space,  we will first start with Earth to learn about the characteristics of our home planet, then blast off into outer space where we will Wonder and Explore the sun, moon, and stars, our solar system, and of course life in space.   We are so excited about our journey into space and hope your child is too!  We have already begun the process of finding out what our students are Wondering about and want to Explore and are excited about the pit stops to facilitate their inquiries.    We are so looking forward to an amazing year filled with joy, laughter, and lots of hard work too!!    We have already begun the process of finding out what our students want to learn about can’t wait to explore some of the pit stops along the way to facilitate their inquiries as well.  We are so excited about our space travels around the world and hope your child is too!

Back-to-School Night

We can’t wait to meet with all of our wonderful parents at Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 4:45 pm.  This year, Indigo Cluster will be holding the classroom portion of Back to School Night EARLIER than the rest of the school.  We will meet in Indigo Cluster at 4:30pm and begin promptly at 4:45.  You will then attend the Auditorium presentation with the rest of the school afterwards at 6:00pm. We look forward to sharing lots more information  about Indigo Cluster and will be able to answer any questions you may have as well.  We wanted to remind everyone that this is a PARENT ONLY event.

Donor’s Choose

We have just posted 2 projects on, an award winning charity that helps get teachers the resources they need for their classroom.  If you would like to contribute any amount, big or small,  or if you know of anyone that would like to donate to our class, please click on the link below.   We are excited that one of our projects has already been funded through a generous donor funding half of it already!  You can click on the link or search for my project on Donor's Choose.  You can use my full name(Regina Jeffery or it might come up as Ms. Jeffery) and our zip code is 90045.   Thank you so much for taking a look and considering a donation.

Writer’s Workshop for Everyone!!!

Please make sure your child brings their Homework Folder Everyday.  We are trying to get them in the habit of putting it in their mailbox every morning as it will help them check their mailbox at the end of the day for any important information that we will be sending home.  We sent homework home this past Friday and will be sending homework home this Thursday.  Normally homework will be due the following Friday, but due to the school holiday, this week’s homework will be due Thursday, August 29th.

*If you have not turned in your “Parent Homework”     (Emergency Cards, Library form, etc.), please do so right away.

*If you have not turned in your child’s Comfort Kit, please turn it in as soon as possible.
