September 20th: Open Hearts Meeting

Open Hearts, our school's community service club, is having our FIRST meeting is on Friday, September 20th at lunch in the Auditorium at 12:15 p.m. Students have time to eat lunch outside before coming to the Auditorium at 12:15 p.m.

Under the guidance of committee staff, Open Hearts students volunteer their services in a creative, age-appropriate way in support of various social causes.  Through Open Hearts our students learn about various social issues in our community, and how to educate their peers about the same. Together, we plan how we will support various initiatives, and work to execute those plans in a successful manner.  The Club empowers our students with the knowledge that every person, no matter how young, can make a difference for the better in our world.   Some of our initiatives include: writing encouraging letters to military service people, making bandanas and blankets for animals in shelters, gathering items such as crayons to recycle, food drives for the needy and blessing bags for the homeless.
