February 28, 2020

Thank you to everyone who came with us on our field trip yesterday!  The Lego art was really amazing and occasionally thought-provoking and the kids enjoyed being able to see other parts of the Science Center as well and having the extra adults was what made it all possible.

Speaking of extra adults, we are truly desperate for more adult hands to help the students finish up their object costumes.  Partly, we just need adults to keep the students focused and moving, and partly we need adults to help support finishing and placing all of the details that make the cardboard boxes look like what they are supposed to represent.  We have had very, very little help and are very behind where we want to be and are getting worried about our ability to finish the costumes and teach the academic content we also need to be covering right now.  We really can’t do it without you.  We need helpers on Monday, from 10:45 - 12:15 and 1:00 - 2:30, as well as on Friday from 9:00 - 10:45 and 10:45 - 12:15.  If those times don’t work for you, but you can come in the morning until 9:00, we can give you a student to help out (but not on Thursdays, due to assembly).  The same thing is true for Thursday at 1:45.

Also, if you have any experience with acting in any form, we would love for you to come help our students rehearse their lines for the show.  The best times are mornings before 9 and Tuesday and Wednesdays from about 9:30 - 10:45, but if there are times that work better for you, let us know and we will see what we can work out.

We really, truly need you.  Please come!

Homework

Science Spin:  This week’s article is about how climate change is affecting sports, and that is the theme of the map the students are working on as well.   The magazine and paper are due on Friday, March 6th.

Problem of the Week:  This week’s problem is about working backward through a series of clues to find out information at the beginning of a sequence.  It is due on Friday, March 6th.

Object Parade Lines and Songs:  We have sent home copies of the script and the songs for the Object Parade so that the students can start memorizing them.  We are thinking the Object Parade will be the night of Open House, but haven’t confirmed that yet. Either way, we do need everyone to learn their lines and the songs.  Please support your child in doing this.

Expiration Date:
