Daily Update: March 23, 2020

Hello Indigo Cluster Families,

Welcome to Week 2 of Remote Learning. With week 1 under your belt, we hope that you have settled into a routine that is more manageable and productive. We know Week 1 involved some hiccups, bumps, and even some right punches as we all work through this unchartered territory together. Remember, we are in this together.

This morning, Monday, March 23 @ 11:00 am, Superintendent Beutner will have a press conference on KLCS-TV and online. Please tune in for additional information about the next steps for LAUSD. We will tune in as well. After these much awaited announcements, we will share additional information that is specific to Indigo Cluster School, as soon as possible. Please know, we have been working feverishly to develop plans that support your child and your family at this time with the same thoughtfulness and diligence consistently characteristic of Open School.

If your child is having difficulty with any of their assigned work, feel free to email us at indigo.clusteratme.com  Please do not reply to this email thread as it does not go directly to us. More specifically, if you have a question about math you are working on at home, email your question by 2:30 today. Ms. Messaye is planning to invite students to a Zoom call tomorrow based on areas of need. Also, please email us pictures of our Indigo Shining Stars engaging in the various at home activities you have been doing. We have loved seeing your artwork, pictures of you playing math games, enjoying reading time, and would love to see more!

Today's Highlights

  • Stay tuned for invitation to Zoom Math Reveiw/Support.
  • Make sure you have finished your planet research. We will have a Zoom call on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon to share our findings.

    Helpful Resources:

*NASA Space Place-A great resource to explore planets and all things space.

*The Universe- A great Netflix series separate chapters on each of the planets

  • Email questions and your pictures.

Frequently Asked Questions(Either ones that were asked, or that you might want to ask!):

*Can I explore other areas my child might be interested in?

Yes, Absolutely!  There are a ton of resources that have been posted on the district's website and sent home in the weekly Backpack email.  Please continue to enrich your child's learning with their interests just as you normally would.

*What to do about the Scholastic Book Order forms that were sent home?

The Scholastic Order forms you received will provide you an opportunity to still order books for your child.  I am waiting to hear back from Scholastic News, but it seems like they are planning on sending books straight to your home if your order them. We will keep you updated as we hear more information.
