Good morning!

Hope all continues to be well with you and your families.  We are thankful for all of the positive energy and acknowledgements of our hard work so many of you have sent. Though trying hard to remember balance and self care, the lines between work and home are constantly blurred. Everyday is packed full of so much to do! We are CERTAINLY working hard, and we know you are too! I'm starting my morning with some movement and then mindfulness and breathing exercises so that I don't take the stressful energy from yesterday's to do list into today. Sigh. Continue to stay the course and stay encouraged. We are in this together.

Yesterday afternoon during our Zoom meeting, we watched a video through Class Dojo and talked about how children saw the characters and understood their feelings and actions. This conversation on empathy was both heartwarming and timely. If conversations about COVID-19 are happening around your house, talk about empathy and see the good in people who are focusing on acts of kindness, good citizenship, and empathy. Today, we will have another Roots of Respect Zoom meeting at 11:30 am to connect and continue our focus on empathy.

Regarding math, everyone has received an email inviting them to small group math sessions by now. Several more went out last night for those I have not met with yet. If for some reason you did not get an email, please let us know.

Also, just a reminder, our office hours are from 12:00-12:45. This is the best time to communicate to guarantee an immediate personal response. Please realize these emails will be less formal and more conversational as we respond quickly to get to many questions and requests. Also, we know you are receiving a lot of communication, but we strongly recommend you read all the way to the bottom of the Daily Updates.  We spend quite a bit of time on this correspondence to keep you informed and us all connected. In addition, if a question is emailed more than once or is a good general information question, we answer it in our FAQ section.

Helpful Resources

Frequently Asked Questions(Either ones that were asked, or that you might want to ask!):

*Am I able to provide enrichment for my child with other apps and websites(Dreambox, Adventure Academy, or anything else you might want to explore)?

Absolutely! We are providing guidance for instruction for the day, but this is not limited to resources we provide.  Please continue to enrich your child as there are a ton of resources out there right now and many of these apps and resources are free right now so it might be a great way to get a sneak peak.

Should we do the activities that Ms. Cass sends in her updates?

We want to say again, please do……..especially the activities from our Specialists!  They have thoughtfully shared ideas of things your child can do at home.   And of course explore the resources that gets your child moving around!  That is especially important during this time.
